"in the southern part of the state of gujarat, the jesuits in collaboration
with a swiss couple, have developed a big solar cooker based on aluminum parabolic dishes
that transforms solar energy into direct heat. the sun rays are directed, through a small
window, onto the base of a diffuser that redirects them onto big cooking pots. the energy
is enormous and they have been cooking for a long time now for over 250 people daily
(students of boarding schools). by means of a simple tracking devise, the dishes follow
the sun from sunrise to sunset. besides cooking they have free hot water for bathing and
for morning tea-making."
