A HotPot outer glass hemispheric bowl with lip, can
transfer larger loads to flange rim in tropical kitchens per attached
sketch. Building integrated non-imaging (NI) reflector concentration can
be at the bottom of the hotpot with no moving parts and no fluid loops. |

A community building integrated solar cooker project is being developed that has
a stationary CPC reflector trough, with tracking frame end wall reflectors on
fabric/film, and earthen vault architecture; for equatorial tropical sites (0-20
degrees latitude) without seismic problems. The solar cooker rectangular 'box'
at the outlet of the CPC can be approximately 1m/4ft x 20m/60ft; and the earthen
vaults can have rise-spans up to 15m/50ft. There are expressions of interest to
participate from: Satprem Maine, architect and executive of earth unit (UNESCO
Earthen Architecture) at Auroville Building Centre, India; and Dr. Roland
Winston, of the University of California-Merced. Preliminary sketch studies are
attached. Funding is being sought for feasibility design studies. |
